SERENA SAFARI LODGE

About Amboseli Serena Lodge

Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge is a mid-range accommodation that gives you a good balance of affordability and excellence. The guest rooms and suites feature locally-influenced decor that highlights the craftsmanship and traditions of the Maasai people. A ceiling fan, sleeping area with a dressing table, full bathroom and other amenities are exactly what you need for a very comfortable trip to Kenya’s wildlands.

From the lodge’s restaurant, you watch the intriguing behaviors of Africa’s bush wildlife, such as an individual zebra within the protection of the harem that feels safe enough to sleep standing up! Listen closely to the calls of these animals, as their bark and whinny indicate a cheetah, leopard or another predator is nearby. If their alerts grow in intensity or supported by alarm calls from monkeys or other small plains herbivores, you will be on the verge of your seat watching and waiting for the most exciting part of any bush holiday in Amboseli National Park — the hunt.

Your day of wilderness travel in Amboseli National Park begins with the rising sun on the horizon, and the wild air is filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and tea. After garnering energy from the breakfast buffet, you join your experienced guide for a game drive tour across the arid landscape. Around you are numerous fauna from impala, gazelle, warthogs, hartebeest, Maasai giraffe and many other grazing animals. Your guide will use his admirable experience and expertise to get you to the finest and strategic locations for wildlife viewing and to observe specific behaviors.

Before returning to the Amboseli Serena Lodge for a buffet lunch, you realize that you have seen most of the Africa’s Big Five in only a few short hours, with the exception of rhinos that are not present in Amboseli. The Amboseli rhinos were moved few decades ago to Tsavo West for stricter safeguard of this vanishing animal. A delightful cup of afternoon tea is all you need after your nap and before pursuing your afternoon game drive activity in the backwoods of Amboseli. On your return, join other AfricanMecca guests around the campfire for sunset cocktails and stories of adventurous safaris in East Africa. The final meal of the night is absolutely gratifying, and you contemplate your day as you stroll back to your room for nightfall’s rest before your next day adventure.
